Financial Restructuring of Aldershot Town FC
HMT advised Quantuma LLP on the financial restructuring of Aldershot Town Football Club.
Southampton-headquartered Quantuma is a restructuring and insolvency practice providing a partner led service to businesses and individuals facing financial distress. Launched in January 2013 by Carl Jackson, the business is quickly becoming the premier independent restructuring practice in the South.
Aldershot Town FC, based in Aldershot, Hampshire, was founded in 1992 after the closure of debt-ridden Fourth Division club Aldershot FC. The club, which traces its roots back to 1926, has been playing in the town centre continuously since then, and is a key part of the local community. Following their relegation from Football League Two at the end of the 2012/13 season, the club went into administration. Quantuma Partners Carl Jackson and Paul Goddard were appointed as administrators shortly thereafter.
HMT provided financial advice and assistance on the sale of the club, which has been taken over by a consortium led by former chairman Shahid Azeem.
